Junior Competitive Play

Tennis is competitive and the sooner players start in competition the more enjoyment and fulfillment a player will experience. As well as opportunities to play and compete at Grimsby Tennis Centre, the LTA organises competitions throughout the County and Nationally.

LEADERBOARDS

All competitions at Grade 2 to Grade 5 are part of a circuit with a leaderboard.

  • Grade 2 circuit Winter National Tour (WNT)

  • Grade 3 circuit Winter Regional Tour (WRT) – includes holiday period tournaments

  • Grade 4 & 5 circuit Winter County Tour (WCT) – includes holiday period tournaments

The Leaderboards show how players are doing during the season in a series of competitions that are part of a ‘circuit’. Players are awarded points based on how far they progress in the competitions. Leaderboards are a fantastic way of engaging young players within exciting competition as they can track their progress, just as the top players do on the ATP/WTA Tours. It encourages players to compete regularly against others to move up the leaderboard and create winners at every level.

Leaderboard points are assigned for rounds reached in main draw and consolation draws only, ie not qualifying.
